Tunnels of Bucharest

from Nomad by Rom Baro

/

about

This song is dedicated to the underground dwellers of Bucharest, Romania. They are orphans from all ranges of age, whom have lost faith in "normal" society and have resorted to living in old subterranean tunnels beneath the city of Bucharest, that were once used to heat the homes for which they reside under. These kids and adults are plagued with drug addiction and disease. They are completely disassociated with the laws and order that exists in the city above them. They have their own code of ethics and a common leader whom has earned their trust, respect, security and support. This man goes by the nickname "Bruce Lee", which was earned from his street fighting days. He is their Rom Baro. Their "Big Gypsy".

lyrics

Beneath the Baroque mansions.
In the heated tunnels of Bucharest.
Live a slew of kids lost to society.
Lost to their families if they ever had any.

They emerge in the morning to collect what they need.
Breathing the fresh air and escaping the heat.
Lead by a man known to the streets as "Bruce Lee".
Wrists wrapped in chains and knuckles like concrete.

Go into the hole and you'll see!

Drug addicted and diseased.
They found their new family.
So to them we sing this song.
It's the story of the Bucharest Rom.

The Tunnels of Bucharest.
